Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the content of educational disciplines in the field of musical art and their features in the context of the development of art education today. The research methodology is associated with the application of general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, systematization and theoretical generalization of a complex of music-theoretical, music-instrumental, conducting and choral disciplines, as well as methods of teaching musical art, the study and assimilation of which contributes to the formation and development of students’ aesthetic outlook, artistic and creative thinking, their awareness and understanding of the phenomena of musical art. The scientific novelty of the work is that, using the method of analysis of scientific literature and the results of scientific research, the content of educational disciplines in the field of musical art and their features in the context of the development of art education today are substantiated. The fundamental importance of musical disciplines in the professional training of the future teacher has been established and proven. Several important components of music-pedagogical activity are identified, which are particularly relevant in the process of forming the content of educational disciplines. Conclusions. The results of the study show that the content of musical disciplines involves the formation and development of students’ skills in professional management of the performance of various types of musical activities of students in class, the ability to improvise, and the ability to make the necessary decisions in critical situations. The modernization of educational activity requires the introduction of innovations into the educational process, which are accompanied by the use of various technical means of learning, interdisciplinary connections, modern forms and methods, oriented to the development of artistic thinking. Today, a successful teacher must be endowed with the skills of critical thinking, teamwork, and communication in a different cultural environment. As a result of mastering a certain complex of musical disciplines, the teacher will be able to teach the subject at a high professional level, introduce and interest them in this art form in a form accessible to children, at the same time, developing one’s own creative potential, and improving the ability to rationally apply the acquired knowledge in music-pedagogical work in institutions of general secondary education.
