NATIONAL COMPONENT OF STANDARDIZATION OF TRANSLATION DICTIONARIES IN THE PROCESS OF FORMATION OF NATIONAL TERMINOLOGY AND BRANCH SCIENTIFIC THESAURUSES

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the importance of using the national component in the standardization of translation dictionaries in the process of forming national terminology and branch scientific thesauri. The research methodology is based on the integration of various disciplines: linguistics, cultural studies, information technologies, cognitive science and standards in the field of terminology and dictionary compilation. This makes it possible to provide a comprehensive approach to the research of the topic and achieve positive practical results. The article points out the importance of using national vocabulary in translation dictionaries for accuracy and efficiency of translation. The authors point out that translation is not limited to the translation of word meanings from one language to another – it also covers the transfer of cultural, historical and social contexts, which are important components of the language system. The article analyzes the concepts of dictionary and terminology. The scientific novelty consists in the analysis of translation industry dictionaries and the indication of the importance of using national vocabulary in technical translation dictionaries, which allows creating terms that are most understandable to native speakers, helps to avoid incorrect interpretations or ambiguities. The use of national terms in translation dictionaries makes it possible to adapt international technical terms to local conditions and standards, which facilitates the introduction of new technologies and ensures compliance with local requirements. The authors of the article describe their own experience of compiling short translator dictionaries for students of technical specialties of higher education institutions. Conclusions. Thus, the correct use of national vocabulary in technical translation dictionaries is important for the accuracy, accessibility and adaptation of technical information to a specific linguistic and cultural reality, which in turn facilitates communication and increases the efficiency of work in an international technical environment.
