Abstract

The article presents the results of a longitudinal research of the humanitarian-digital model of education implemented in the «School of Humanitarian Labour» (SHL, Kherson, Ukraine) in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and martial law. The purpose of the article is to describe the study of the effectiveness of the humanitarian-digital model of distance and mixed learning implemented at the «School of Humanitarian Labour», as well as to analyze its impact on academic results, psychological involvement of students, interaction with parents and professional adaptation of teachers. The research methodology is based on a comprehensive analysis of empirical data. The following materials were used to collect empirical data: tests in Mathematics, Ukrainian, and Physics; a survey of students, parents, and teachers; pedagogical observation; an analysis of students' educational activity; and semi-structured online interviews. The scientific novelty lies in the study of a model of distance and mixed education, which is able to ensure not only academic achievement, but also psychological involvement, humanitarian development and educational stability of students in conditions of social crisis. The possibility of using individual elements of the studied humanitarian-digital model in the system of distance and mixed education determines the practical value of the work. Conclusions. The results showed a statistically significant increase in academic performance, psychological involvement, the level of parental trust and professional adaptation of teachers in the SHL compared to the control group (p < 0.05). The humanitarian components of the digital environment were especially significant: drama practices, creative projects, family support system and individual pedagogical support. The results obtained allow us to consider the humanitarian-digital model of SHL as a promising form of educational sustainability in conditions of social crisis and long-term distance learning.
