ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE LEVEL OF POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS OF COMBATANTS AND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF FAMILY`S RELATIONS

Abstract. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the relationship between the level of post-traumatic stress and the characteristics of family relationships. It was established that combatants are characterized by a low level of neuroticism, high openness to experience, conscientiousness and extraversion compared to persons whose activities are not related to professional stress. They are more satisfied with marriage, in their families there are less pronounced disturbances in raising children and psychological (personal) problems that are solved at the expense of the child. At the same time, a high correlation of these psychological characteristics with the level of social desirability is observed. Marriage satisfaction is related to personality traits, regardless of the nature of professional activity. Violations of the process of upbringing in her are related to personal characteristics. For persons who tend to subordinate personal needs to the needs of the group and who have high responsibility and self-control, inharmonious pathologizing upbringing is less characteristic. Combatants have more connections between upbringing disorders and personality traits than civilians. The severity of the traumatic event and the level of post-traumatic stress are predictors of violations of the education process. Combatants with pronounced post-traumatic stress reactions have more disturbances in the sphere of family relations. They are characterized by lower satisfaction with marriage, disruption of the family upbringing process and psychological (personal) problems solved with the help of a child. The level of post-traumatic stress is associated with hypoprotection and insufficient demands-obligations, that is, parents who experience post-traumatic stress tend to pay less attention to the child. On the contrary, as the severity of the combat trauma increases, the probability of the manifestation of anxiety-caring characteristics of upbringing increases.
