Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of the article is to analyse the use of innovative technologies in the process of teaching geography in basic and specialized schools and the organization of learning using various information sites. The research methodology is based on a combination of the philosophical methodology of the scientific foundations of the educational discipline ‘Methodology of teaching geography in basic and specialized schools’ and specific thematic ones (the main provisions of the methodology of teaching geography, the use of scientific methods that are logically and structurally interconnected in the research process, innovative methods of teaching, the use of information and computer technologies in the methodology of teaching geography, etc.) principles with systematic, scientific methods. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the authors, using the method of situational analysis, as well as the results of empirical research, analysed the impact and effectiveness of innovative and information and computer technologies on the methodology of teaching geography in basic and specialized schools, which are relevant for the theory and methodology of teaching geography, development of pedagogical science. Conclusions. The use of modern innovative technologies provides an opportunity to achieve an effective result in the development of personal qualities of participants in the educational process, the use of information and computer technologies in geography lessons helps to develop cognitive activity, joint problem solving based on situational analysis has a positive effect on the student's comfortable learning conditions, as well as development of its natural potential. The implementation of innovative technologies is impossible without a teacher who possesses systemic thinking, a developed capacity for creativity, and a formed and conscious readiness for innovation.
