Abstract

The role and significance of the educational laboratory "Botanical Garden" of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Management of the Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V. G. Korolenko in the preservation of floristic diversity and environmental control. The educational laboratory is a park-monument of horticultural art of local significance and currently functions as the most significant and valuable example of park construction in order to protect them and use them for aesthetic, educational, scientific, nature conservation and health purposes in the Poltava region. The territory fulfills a complex of scientific tasks, and also acts as a recreational, nature conservation location of the city of Poltava. Landscape compositions of the garden reveal the most interesting natural components of the surrounding landscape, solve the architectural and planning connections in its territory as best as possible, and also represent the decorative and artistic and aesthetic properties of plants. Currently, the first stages of creating a collectiongarden "Garden of Subtropical Fruit Cultures" and the planned formation of an introduction-center, establishment of a frame collection have been carried out on this territory. The purpose of the study is to clarify the role of the educational laboratory "Botanical Garden" of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Management in preserving floral diversity and monitoring the state of the environment of the Poltava region. An analysis of the distribution of the territory was carried out. The role and prospects of bioindicative studies in this area for assessing the degree of environmental pollution are clarified. The research methodology is based on a combination of such methods as analysis, synthesis and generalization of theoretical information regarding the research issues. Scientific novelty. The conducted research made it possible to determine the leading role of the educational laboratory in the preservation of phytodiversity, the formation of research competences in the investigation of the state of the environment, the development of creativity, culture, environmental education, meaningful leisure activities, and the psychological and physical relaxation of visitors.
