FEATURES OF THE MANAGEMENT AND TREATMENT OF WASTE PLASTIC MATERIALS IN THE ODESA REGION

The purpose of the article is to analyze the current state and prospects of management and handling of waste plastic materials in the Odesa region. The research methodology is based on a critical analysis of existing information regarding the current state of the system of management and handling of waste plastic materials in the stream of solid household waste in the regions of Ukraine (on the example of the Odesa region). When performing the work, published data of domestic and foreign authors, as well as materials of own research, devoted to the assessment of the resource potential of the flow of solid household waste in the Odesa region, were used. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time an assessment of the volume of formation and accumulation of waste plastic materials on the territory of individual clusters of the Odesa region was provided, as well as their value assessment. Conclusions. The current state of the management and handling of solid household waste in the Odesa region is analyzed, as well as an assessment of the resource value of waste plastic materials in the territory of this region. It is noted that from the total flow of solid household waste in the Odesa region, it is possible to obtain waste plastic materials in the amount of almost 0.8 million hryvnias every year significantly increased.If the existing management and handling system is improved, taking into account the waste of plastic materials generated at industrial, agricultural and construction sites, the amount and value of this secondary raw material can be significantly increased. At the same time, there will be a reduction of man-made load on the natural components of the environment and an improvement of the ecological situation in the territory of the Odesa region.
