The purpose of the article is to study the current topic of psychological correction of negative emotional states in children with special needs during the war. Children with special educational needs are defined as a group of individuals, which includes individuals with various types of psychophysical disorders. The main factors of emotional experiences of children with special educational needs during the war are revealed: uncertainty of the future, lack of information about the real state of events; stress and anxiety from the news, air raids and explosions; crying, anger as a reaction to the situation or emotional reactions of the immediate environment; chronic stress and emotional exhaustion – the cumulative effect of disturbing events, constant worries, experiences of a negative nature. The research methodology is based on the general patterns of functioning of the child’s psyche during the experience of stressful situations. Children in the vast majority of cases experience difficulties in describing their own experiences, recognizing their own emotional states, and the ability to express their feelings in accordance with real events. Among the various techniques and methods in working with negative emotional states of a child during the war, a game has been identified. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that a game for a child is an environment where a child can recreate his experiences, demonstrate threats that worry him and complete tasks regardless of the limitations/violations that exist in his everyday life, gain experience in establishing social contacts, the ability to resolve various misunderstandings and conflicts. Conclusions. The most common games for working with negative emotional states for children with special needs are mobile and sensory. Mobile games allow you to freely release negative emotions and relieve nervous tension, and sensory games calm you down and provide the ability to focus on pleasant experiences.
